That was the year AFTER I graduated High School. Including 2 1/2 years of Vocational Auto Mechanics. Both shop and classroom. So in 1976 I was in to Girls, a job, and Cars. Not T.V.

1976 the year i graduated from high school. i was 17 years old and driving a 1967 f-100 camper special.wish i could go back in time. the world was a much better place imo.

Gee whiz, you're saying that when you were a young 'un and living in ******-Overlandville that you never watched TV?
My parents bought their first TV set in 1947 (when I was 3), it was one of those HUGE console models with a 12" screen.
Early TV featured reruns of old films and live shows, one of which was the kiddie show Howdy-Doody (I HATED that show!).
Early TV sets were very unreliable and it wasn't long before people were calling TV repairmen the same thing they calling used/new car salesmen: CROOKS!
In '76, I would have also been 10 years old. I probably saw the commercial but, since at the time I was 6 years away from being old enough to possess a drivers license, I probably wasn't paying too much attention to vehicle commercials then.
