I need help immediately!!!
My 1979 Ford I just bought about a month ago it was doing just fine other then a bad water pump and no A/C and a bad solenoid but other then that the engine was running like it would 40 years ago. Then I decided it'd be better to replace the whole brake system pads, rotors, drums, lines, master cylinder and brake booster, proportioning valves the whole nine yards. It wasn't running for like a week when that happened then when I tried to start it up it wouldn't turn on it would just crank and crank even though I had fuel so a new fuel pump when in and it did good again. Then out of no where it hits me like a train the truck shuts off on the road and won't turn on it just cranks and cranks and then starts up after so many cranks but if I have it running at high rpms it's all good it's running normal but if I slow down to turn or something it starts to sputter and shake like it wants to turn off, then to top it off it's running rich it was like a switch was lifted and these problems came out of no where. I'm thinking about converting to an electrical pump but I have a feeling my carb has problems as well. The pump does its job it pumps fuel I can see it in the in line fuel filter but it's like not being pumped enough for it to stay on and the carb isn't holding any fuel so it starts up. I really need some opinions from people on here that know more then me.
Edit) If I were to get a new carb what size do y'all reccomend for a stock 460? I want to stick with edelbrock and I think 600cfm is good enough but what size would y'all get and how much fuel pressure would you set the electrical pump to to feed the carb without over feeding it with gas or not feeding it with enough.

I think their max recommendation is 5.5.
Too rich and shaking except at high rpms sounds like a blown powervalve.
Does it make popping noises on trailing throttle?
Could be some crap in the tank plugging the fuel line pickup or plugged filter(s). Crap in the tank can float around, get sucked up to the pickup tube, then float away when the pressure stops. Going around corners can slosh crap around.
that happened to me, had to pull the tank. I ended up replacing it because it was rusty as well.
The new pump itself might have crapped out on you. Maybe make sure the bolts on it are still torqued down.
Try pulling the line and see if you're getting sufficient gas flowing to the carb.
