I'm a fan of two high quality door speakers. throw in a $80 amp and it will sound great.

Notice that the inside of the door skin has had sound deadening mat added. Makes a significant difference to the sound quality you will get out of a door speaker, reduces road noise, and softens that tin can sound when you close the door. Well worth the effort and expense.
