1992 E4OD issue?

I have an f-250 with the e4od. It has the 7.3 diesel. The problem that I've been having, and nobody has ever heard of before(?) is that the converter keeps unlocking/locking/unlocking/locking all the time. I only drive about 5 miles or so/day with the thing anymore, but it's terribly annoying. After it goes maybe 10 miles or so, it works better, possibly even the way that it should, so that tells me the tranny/converter are ok, that it has to be something outside of it? I changed the oil, and filter last year, and it has a whopping 3000 miles on it since then. I replaced the solenoid gizmo a few weeks back, and the oil still looked good (new almost), and there was hardly anything on the magnet. As I recall, there was very little on it when the oil was changed a year ago. It has 117K on it, has never been used for towing, or even hauling. It was really just a highway machine. I have wiggled and jiggled and unhooked/hooked the plugs for the tranny. Nothing that I have done has changed the way it's acting. none of the shifts are hard or clunky. Everything is smooth, it just locks and unlocks all the time. Brake lights are all good, and the T/S switch was just replaced. Ideas?

It could be the brake light switch. If it activates the brake lights it will unlock the converter.

If you have a 4X4 you may have put the wrong filter in it.

You should be getting code 62 along with another code(s) helping to pinpoint the trouble. Is the OD light flashing? Does the light illuminate when OD is canceled?
You replaced the solenoid pack? Those rarely fail and kinda expensive dart to throw at it first. For dart tossing,a $40 TPS would of wiser without codes because those need to replaced on IDI trucks every 50k miles anyway as they eventually ware and get dead voltage spots. Not that I suggest tossing parts at it blindly at all but if your going to,at least pick more common issues and lower priced ones first.
So while replacing the solenoid pack, did you closely examine the pins inside the harness on the truck side? At least inspect that they are not rusty and green looking. Those repair ends can be replaced too.

OD light is NOT flashing, has never flashed, does illuminate when OD is canceled. The tranny fluid/filter change occurred AFTER this unlocking/locking all started to occur. All of the pins/connectors/and wire harnesses looked nice, none were crimped/green/anything else weird. Can I read the codes with a digital multimeter? I wanna get rid of this thing soon, and hope to never have a need for the code reader. You say the TPS normally wears out at 50k..... I assume it's near the IP? I had the pump rebuilt a few years back, it was leaking really bad. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, but I keep thinking it has to be something exposed to heat, because it works nearly perfect after 20-30 minutes of driving, which is why I picked the solenoid pack.
