I changed the fluid & filter. Runs better, still has chatter at certain throttle position, gear selected, and engine RPM. I used Mobile 1.
Did not want a LV compativle fluid. MaxLife sayes it satisfies everyone, usually this means partially. California rejects it since it does not meet the FULL Mercon V spec.

With it still having various levels of chatter under some conditions. Should I expect
the trouble to get worse, stay the same, or improve with usage?

Watching the "timing advance", the chatter seems to be interpreted as a misfire, retarding the timing and engine power.

I don't think a misfire will cause timing changes. You sure it's not the knock sensor pulling timing?

v-10 No power at injectors... need help.

Hey all. I have only used this forum a few times so I hope I am making this post in the right place. Seemed like a lot of talk here about the v-10 so I thought someone here might be able to help.
Here is the problem:
2001 Excursion 4x4 V-10
Going down the road the other day and the PCM fuse blows. I have my tuner with me (5 Star) and I run the codes. Gives error code for Throttle Position sensor. Can't remember exact number now. I google the number and apparently that number can be a lot more than just that sensor. I tow it home and long story short I do not have twelve volts at the injectors. Here is a list of what I have checked and tried so far:
Replaced PCM fuse (has not blown again)
Checked every fuse with a meter for both continuity and 12 volt to each side.
Checked voltage at Crankshaft sensor.
Returned motor to stock (5 Star Tuner)
Returned program to Custom Tune
(By the way Pats is out because I have it turned off with the tuner)
Re-checked DTC's (shows nothing)
Cleared DTC's
Changed Throttle position sensor
Checked Fuel pressure at rail
Checked voltage at Coils
Ran engine with starting fluid (it did fire)
Swapped out any relay I could think of that related to fuel
Tried banging on it (oddly did not help)
Oh and someone on a forum here suggested the O2 sensor wires could have a short. I manually followed them and they look clean.
So the only problem I can find is no twelve volts at the injectors. From what I have read on here I gather that the injectors should have constant twelve volt and the PCM controls pulse by the ground.
So I am out of ideas. I can't find where the injectors get there power from. Does anyone have a wiring schematic? Does anyone have any ideas what else I can check? Thanks in advance.
