DEF use
I usually leave my tanks on the low side in the winter months.
On the other note. I personally think that DEF crystallizes so easily that it coats the sensors in the tank. When you add new DEF, it some times takes a few hours for the crystals ti disolve and allow the sensors to do their job. What ever the reason, it often takes a few hours for the DEF gauge to recognize the fill up.
Now as we all know, filling the DEF tank is a PIA. Using a funnel and a jug of DEF isn't going to work. Or at least I can't get it to work
Daywork, are you using the Ford PM-27-N filler tube? Did you line the arrow up with the jug? Even with the arrow lined up and the Ford filler tube I still struggle to have the stuff flow easily into the tank. I squeeze the s**t out of the jug, I then back the tube out of the filler neck, allow air back into the jug and repeat until the jug is empty. I'm not quite sure it "overflows" using the Ford filler tube, my experience is that you can't get anymore into the tank. If you did use the Ford filler tube and it did overflow at 2 gallons I would say there is a problem. What year truck? How many miles?
