Dangit, I even double checked the spelling of your name and still misspelled it... I changed my original comment to reflect the proper spelling.
Anyway, take pictures as you know how much we love to see other people working their trucks. I can tell you this, having a new and properly functioning clutch in the truck makes a world of difference. Good luck to you and your friend!
No worries at all on the spelling, but thanks for noticing! LOL...I'll take photos galore and definitely share them.
You all oughtta get to know Jarrett. He's become a good friend and is a stand up dude. He's pretty darn funny too. FTE is a great place. I've made some good friends on here and gained a ton of know how.
Ah, the wonderful feeling of a new clutch. Good luck on the swap Byron, if you have any questions we are all here to help (if I were closer I would be at your shop helping out)!
I am glad you are having a friend to help you with it, when I was doing mine I had a hand to take the trans out, but not put it back in. Thing rolled twice, thankfully not on me either time. I have always done my best to be outside the frame rail when taking it down/up. In the event that it does roll, the rail gives you a little extra time to get out of the way.
The jack I used was an 800# tranny jack (HF special) and it handled the transmission/transfer ok, but I honestly would have preferred a bigger platform to support the thing with. I will say, while you are down there it is a perfect time to swap out fluid, and put in an impregnated bronze bushing as a pilot. I first saw Jason doing it, and did it when I put my clutch in. Input stays lubed, and the bushing wears to it perfectly - no risk of needles reeking havoc to it again!
Just take your time, grab a case or two, and get her stuck in there!
The parts store bronze bushings I've taken out of trucks did not hold up well. I have these machined by a friend from Oilite bar stock. PM me if you want one.
The valley drain mod is just 1/2" soft copper and a 90* sweat fitting that was trimmed do it fits in the hole.
Use ratchet straps under the trans for 'safety'. Besides serious bodily injury, it's probably $3k to replace broken bellhousing.

What at clutch are you using?
I was on a budget, so I used a LUK kit with a new flywheel. I have had really good use with LUK clutches and the truck is relatively stock. I also got the input shaft repair kit. All good on the bushing. It's getting a new pilot with that kit. If I had more time, I may have gone that route.
I appreciate the input a bunch! I'll keep you posted. Keep your phone on you! LOL
Yo Jason.. You mind if I send you the sleeve from the fitzall to fan up that oilite bushing to fit it? I'm gunna order one b up here shortly. Like having it on hand for just in case...
Slider, good luck man. It's Purdy straight forward. Just remember, when the granny I removed, the motor will rock back some. So, skidding ur back in its a bit of a juggle. I hammered the lip from the floorboard flat, for tranny to be an eaz install, after the first go around with clutch
Not everyone needs the repair kit. But there is no way I would ever put one of these together with the needle bearing design. I have very rarely taken one of these trucks apart and found a 'good' pilot bearing.
I didnt hate the LUK clutch. It gave me 100k miles and worked fine. The SB Con OFE I had next used a LUK flywheel and PP...
Yes, I can help get y'all Oilite bushings. I think we have a couple now for stock dia input shaft. Send me a pm and I'll give you my address Timmy!

I hear you Jason. Oddly enough though, the pilot bearing was the one thing intact! It kinda blew my mind. I thought it would fall out of there like every other piece did! LOL!!
Byron is back in business. We wrapped the job up this morning at about 130 or 2. I had a blast wrenching with a great buddy and getting yet another Ford back on the road.
