Anyone Running a ScanGauge II ?

Curious where you mounted it, and what parameters you're monitoring.

I have a ScanGuage II that I am using on my 2005 F250 6.0 and I am planning to use it on my 2017. I finally get to pick up my new truck tomorrow and will have to figure out a good spot for it.

I am also thinking of sending it in to get updated before I install it.

Mine comes in tomorrow, I also ordered a blend mount (really nice mirror mount) which is what I had in my last truck and really liked. Battery Volts, coolant temp, trans temp, not sure what else...

You may find you don't need to install the ScanGauge II in your new truck. I used a unit in my 2006 F150, and it worked great. But most of the parameters I monitored in the F150 are available in displays in the 2017s. Tranny temps, multiple ways to view fuel mileages, and what gear you are in are all available in the 2017 displays. I don't think I will be using my ScanGauge on my truck, but may move it to another vehicle.

I don't know about the Super Duties, but I have those gauges in my F150. The trouble is that they are not real; they are like idiot lights. The gauges are managed to remain "normal" until there is a big problem. Then they swing to the red zone. The coolant temp in my Ecoboost can swing from 180 to 225 depending on load. The temp gauge never moves.

Are Super Duty gauges "real"? Anyone know for sure? I'd like to know as I'll be ordering one as soon as the '18 is available.

Yeah, I know about the gauges but a picture of the gauges tells you nothing. The real question is whether the gauge is "managed" or gives you real readings.

I just picked up my truck tonight
The little amount of time I had to play with the display I remember seeing a few items I would like to monitor. But that is a bunch of button pushing when the scan gauge shows 4 at a time. I think the scan gauge had 4 turbo temps that I might be interested in for the 2017.

I'm using the SCll on my 2015 that was in my 2005. I sent it back to the manufacturer and they updated it for the 6.7 at no cost. Call them prior to sending it in. I mainly watch voltage and egt's. There are other parameters but the egt's tell me where I'm at during regens.

Just received and installed on a Blend Mount, time to pick some gages... FYI if your planning on using any X gages, I find it much easier to program those in before mounting as it is a lot of codes to enter

On my 6.4L, I found that the coolant temp gauge would indicate straight up (12:00) regardless of whether the actual coolant temp was 180 deg or 225 deg. Thus, no better than an idiot light, and useless for looking for trends when pulling hard. So I set my Scangauge to view actual coolant temp, oil or tranny temp, EGT, and DPF temp. The latter in order to easily detect regens.
