Love it. Tip and Ring on a Ma Bell truck tag.
Looks like a nice truck. Surprised to see the V8 badge but I guess that came with the chrome grill and bumper.
Someone needs to jump on that.

That is nice.
Why are you surprised to see it is a V8? Because Bell would have only bought 6 cylinders a a cost savings for their fleets?
Chrome bumpers were not an option in 56 so how can the seller say "All original"?
Blue, orange, green, brown, slate /white, red, black, yellow, violet, indeed Ray. Chrome, heck my first Telco Econoline Van didn't even have a heater or defroster. I had to open the dog house to get any heat in the thing, then wipe the windshield with a rag as I drove to see, as the whole van got pretty wet on a rainy day. I love this truck, we still had one like this in the garage I was stationed out of when I started in 1970. After I left the Phone Co. I did buy a retired tel,66 Econoline that I loved, and wished I still had. Boy did that thing ever see, well lets just say it was B4 I got clean and sober and leave it at that. Thanks for posting it.
Love the plate. Very appropriate. Nice truck, but the ones I remember had no chrome at all and even the hubcaps were painted. And definitely not those mirrors.
I have an original chrome grille from a custom cab abe ..
I know chrome grilles were an option and were standard on Custom Cabs. I've seen them. I sold one on eBay years ago. But chrome or stainless bumpers were not. So this truck is not "all original."
One of the '56 cabs I have was a Bell truck originally. It was a 6/3spd with 0 options. But did have factory seat belts. It was also an "S" or special paint code, for that pukey gray/green color it was originally.

The seat belt option was first introduced in 56 as part of their safety package which also included the deep dish steering wheel and the little covers on the striker plate to keep doors from flying open on impact. I guess Bell was investing in the safety of their drivers.
I have never seen a 56 cab with stock seat belts. Do you have pictures?

The '56 F250 we have has a Utility bed and was originally a Bell phone truck most likely. On the underside of the hood you can see someone wrote "Bell grn", kinda neat truck.
Was a 223/3spd, but someone put a T98 in it. The linkage from the column is still hanging there today. Has seatbelts but I have no way of knowing if they are original.

Yes, I should have said I figured the chrome grill and bumper came at the same time someone refurbished the truck. I would take he means it is original as opposed to having a SBC and a chop and channel job.
I had a friend who had an old Bell truck and it was a basic six with three speed. I would guess a V8 could possibly slip into the fleet by mistake.
