Auto shutdown/ door unlock problem

I have had my F450 for about 6 months and just encountered an anomaly. I ordered the automatic idle shutdown. (5 minutes) I find this handy when making a quick rest stop visit. Starting yesterday, as soon as I close the door as I exit the truck, it unlocks. Previously I could leave it running with the key in the ignition, lock the door and walk away. In about the same timeframe it started the double horn honk as well. Dealer said to bring it in next week and their expert with these issues will look at it. Any comments?

If you want to leave it running after you exit your truck I think you need to use the FOB to activate the locks. I'm not sure about my 2017 SD but my last F-150 Limited was like that.

I can walk away from mine while it running....

if the key fob is in my pocket I can lock it with the door mounted key pad or by touching the door handle (and probably the remote fob)...I get the double horn honk as soon as I step away from the vehicle, no matter if its locked or unlocked.

the truck will remain locked until I unlock it

Do you have keyless entry? Hitting the bottom two buttons together locks the truck.

Although I know about the two buttons locking the truck (use it on our Escape all the time), for some reason I did not think to do it, just caught me by surprise that I was not able to lock the truck. Have to try that tomorrow.

if you use the interior door lock button, with a key in the ignition it will unlock (to prevent folks from locking keys inside)....BUT on trucks equipped w/ the exterior key pad you can lock the truck w/ the keys in it.

Odd that I was able to lock the keys in the truck previously with it running using the lock button, but after checking today I find I am able to leave it running and lock it with the keypad. No double horn honk either. Bottom line is I don't have anything to complain about. And no, I don't have push button start, not sure of the point of it anyway. Thanks to all.
