Hi all,
Another post as I'm finding things to do as my X interior is mostly dismantled.
My rear hatch locking mechanism is busted, and I'm not sure what part is missing in the mechanism. Hopefully this photo attached works, it shows the end of the key mech. locking arm, it is fed through an arm with a blue plastic ring, I assume this was once a plastic clamp for the arm to connect into?
The key mech. locking bar is not attached to anything
Can anyone shed some light on how this is meant to be working?
The rear locking mechanism also isn't activating with central locking.

Check through this thread. There are some good pictures on how things are connected. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1278613-free-your-hatch-key-lock-with-pictures-not-the-actuator.html#post13726580. There are a few other rear hatch lock repair threads in the tech folder.
I have the exact same issue! Already replaced the the rod lock clip that is shown the the link ^... but the hatch is still not locking. Lock rod goes thru the hole with the blue ring, everything moves easily and freely, but will not lock. Like something is missing...
I purchased some lubrication for locks and manually moved the mechanism. Worked on it for about 5 minutes using my hand to lock and unlock it. Sometimes the crud just binds the mechanism. There are several threads about this issue.

This last pic, can you show me the rest of the rod that disappears off the right side of the pic? It's the opposite end of that blue ring. There should be a pinkish plastic clip that attaches to the rod, but I believe (if I'm oriented correctly looking at this pic) the part that is out of frame of the pic is where the clip I'm describing should be.
I had to replace mine after I found it broken. Like you, everything moved, but it would lock or unlock because that clip was missing.
