I have the dash out and would like to test/replace all the bulbs while they're easily accessible. Should the Oil light come on momentarily with the Alt light? I'm trying to get a bead on what's supposed to work and when. Thanks all!
When the optional oil pressure gauge is present, there is a fitting that both the oil pressure and idiot light sending units thread into.
The oil (idiot) light on these trucks may flicker a bit when the engine is started.
The wiper switch and heater blower switch (far right) use the same ****, attaches with a #8 -32 headless set screw located at 6 o'clock. You have to spin the **** around to see it.
The choke **** cannot be removed, as it was made as part of the cable.
You may be aware that the lighter is wrong. Original uses a similar **** as the other dash *****. The element has a bezel made as part of it that has LIGHTER embossed on it.
NOS lighters for 1961/66's are getting very hard to find.
Removed the cluster and dash harness yesterday to make repairs, what a mess, not an authority, if have any questions may be able to address while harness is out.
For into purpose: the 'bezel with lighter' scribe on the bezel includes the heating element, from pic's may not fit the lighter housing currently in your dash??
Thank you for all the help! For the life of me I cannot see a set screw but worse case I tape these off when I paint. I'd just grabbed an image off the web to use as an example. I have the correct lighter bezel on my truck.
The heater blower switch is different on my 65, which is slotted; the shaft is concentric, not round, there is a spring clip in the **** and secures the **** to the shaft.
Difficult to see from pic's: at the base of the ****, I used a paper clip, or something similar, no larger than the width of the slot; the object is to move the spring clip slightly towards the dash in order to release the spring tension allowing the **** to slide off. Do not force the issue.
2nd pic: again, difficult to determine, there's a concentric spring clip; to release tension the clip should be move slightly towards the dash, the object is to insert paper clip, or something similar, toward the end of the slop, behind the spring clip and release spring tension by applying slight pressue moving the spring clip forward towards the dash.
Mine are the same as Dave's. This is the wiper switch, that spring clip engages the slot in the shaft. I just use this little screw driver to push up on the clip. Near impossible to hold all that stuff and take a picture.

All three of the 1965 trucks I have, had the spring clips on the heater and wiper *****. The C1TF-17513 repo ***** I got from Carpenter all have the set screw. I'm sure the set screw version is a lot cheaper to produce than the one with the clip. And I think the set screw version is better because the spring clip type seem to get a little wiggly over time.
Thanks for the pics. Yes, I have that slot but the screw driver doesn't seem to engage but slide to the left or right of the shaft. I ended up taping it for paint. Not ideal but I don't want to damage it. I may reconsider when the time comes to primer.

If the **** is retained by a clip, use an ice pick or an awl to push the clip away, hold it there, then pull the **** off.
