On my 89, I could easily swap the color of the bulb in most sockets but I personally have no desire to do so. That is, if I could find colored bulbs.

On some years you can simply swap in colored lamps. On the 92-96's the actual gauge backing plastic is green so changing lamps will change the color but the effect would be like having a green filter in addition to the color of the lamps you swap in.

Nu Image makes gauge face replacements for the 92-96 Bronco and F-series that change the gauge face AND the backlight color to blue but I'm not sure about the older models. Red flame, Black flame, Blue flame, brushed silver and white face gauge replacments all have blue backlight. They even make a replacement panel for the A/C and heater controls so it all matches. I think the Platinum and diamond series are about $80 a set. The Flame series are more.

The colored lamps are readily available at Autozone and other national parts chains.
