Help needed please

i have a 80 Bronco with a 351m and a c-6. I am wanting to swap the motor with a 460. will the 460 bolt to my tranny??? I want to swap my 1/2 ton axles for a 1ton with a ifs with leaf springs. is that a good idea? Ireally dont want a straight axlecause i like the ride , but want more strenth any input would be helpfull.

Also i have a complete 1 ton 4x4 pickup that i am usinf for the swap out parts. I will probably sell the leftovers to someone who needs them

You may need to change bell housing on the tranny at least. The 351m is technically a big block but I don't know if the bell housing bolt pattern is the same as the 460. As to running IFS with 1 ton axles I don't know if its possible. I know that some F-250's (3/4 ton) were manufactured with IFS leaf-sprung R/R D60 axles. I am assuming that the 1 ton you have for parts is set up this way. Its definitely the way to go if you are looking at going to something beefier than the D44. You will also be running into drive shaft length issues.

I will add as a personal note...YAY! Some else who agrees that the IFS is worth keeping. No sense making the thing ride like a stagecoach if you don't have to.

Its is acutally a 3/4 but has a 1 ton rear. It will also accept a set of buds so i technally have a dually (Buds for the front also) . I didnt believe it until i saw myself. Also if the auto wont fit i have the granny trannie to match the 460, but i dont want to ride wheelies when im in low.

I thought that the D60s IFS was coils, how could leafs handle the articulation of a ttb ifs?
Also, correct me if im wrong, but I was under the impression that those 3/4 ton ifs had only a D60 banjo but the axles were the same as the D44 ifs. If so, you would not gain anything in putting the 3/4 ton front cause you would break axles like crazy.

Yeah wouldnt front dualls be a eye catcher!!!! As far as all of the front end specks go. I have no idea. This is my first ford.

I bought the thing over a year ago for only $150 and i have only replaced the tie rods and gas tank. (rest of the front end is shot).
I still drive it 4 days a week though. The parts pickup i got i used to drive every day on the dairy i worked for in high school.( some 15 or so years ago). I paid 300 for it . the motor only has about 15000 mi on it with both axels rebuild, new transfer case and new clutch set. Body is totaled. All i know is the truck is setup like was from the factory cause i went to the dealer and brought it back form getting the new motor put in it and asked.

When i can i will post some picsof the bronco and pickup. also any tips or pointers would be nice
