This whole thread is awesome! Personally, I'd love to see a manual transmission option for this swap, but I can understand the desire to stick with the auto due to not having to fumble with fooling the PCM into thinking the auto is still there.

Definitely keeping an eye on this thread!

Yes, the work he does is absolutely incredible, to say the least. If you want to see more of this and many of his other projects, check out his giant thread

It goes back almost 7 years, took me a couple months to catch up, but it's well worth the ride!

I was thrown a HUGE curveball in my ‘66 427 build. I ended up spending 5k trying to make the dual quad EFI run proper. Mostly idle issues and way the 8v operates. 6-7 mpg just wasn’t going to cut it and enough $$ spent. I put the 427 (482) FE on Craigslist for 72 hours and it sold! I started to build a very very mild 410 FE. Dropped off my last 3 FE blocks at machine shop got dragged thru the mud for 6 months only to find the machine shop ruined all 3 blocks beyond repair! Cost me a small fortune with another new GV OD, custom converter and a new built c-6.

it was at this time I caught wind Ford Performance was offering 5 450hp 510TQ Raptor 3.5 crate engines.
I was able to get ahold of #4!

more in a bit.

I did finish truck with the dual quad EFI. First outing won Ford Truck Pick Goodguys Scottsdale. During awards had to get pushed as EFI issues. That was last straw.

This is where the 1 of 5 crate engine comes in! Engine and 10R80 now mounted in truck. The 10R80 is a very tall trans but it fits! This week is build the wiring harness week! Only options I am hoping to have are Cruise Control and TPMS along with trip meter. Also adding A/C to truck.

Huge table with harness laid out. Removed all wrapping, tape. Now to remove all not wanted features of which there were many without causing issues with the can bus. Do not want the adjustable pedals either so will need to buy another throttle pedal. This one will have PATS removed also just to show it can be done “bare bones”.

Working on the wiring. Removing all wires not needed a pin at a time! Doing just enough to make it run n drive. Also want cruise control & possibly adaptive cruise just for fun of it. Be cool for lower 48 state trip!

Figured out power steering too!
Adding the 2018-20 Raptor transmission cooling.

very very close to fire up the Raptor Crate engine! Got it to crank and all systems a go so just need to add fuel with temporary fuel supply just to get it to start. Once that happens I can wrap up the wiring harness and start putting truck back together again.

This was last time I drove the truck April 4th 2019
