Hopefully that's the pressure plate and not the pedal return spring. Other than that, I'd say it's ok. And it starts to grab a coupla inches off the floor, yes?
Are you sure you installed the clutch with the springs facing the correct way.....per instructions?
Dumb question but I'm at somewhat of an impasse as to the cause of the illness.
Ok so I took the truck out and got on it in the gears to see if it spun up. And when I got part throttle in second rpm ran up but the truck also scooted so I don't think it was slipping. I may be wrong. And as far as the springs in the right direction I did put it on there the way it was stamped.
See I'm starting to think that maybe the tach is reading high. At idle it reads right but when it gets going it just seems to spin up but I don't know I'm clueless at this point

When I was testing the aftermarket tach, I hooked up the timing light, secured it under the wiper and went for a drive

Well, I think you've done everything to determine the clutch/pressure plate is good. Could be the tach....did you set the tach to 8 cylinders and not four/six? I think there's a little button dealie on the back.......
I'll have to look at the tach again but I don't think I remember a button or dial for the cylinders. It was a cheapie autozone gauge just to see what it was running at but I think im going to start blaming that and see what happens
hey guys all of this trouble and time the whole time the tachometer was calabrated at 4 cylinders. Feel so dumb now haha. But the truck run perfectly where it needs to be so I just want to say thanks guys for all of the help even though I sounded crazy ha.

Glad you got it figured out! Sometimes we get so wrapped up in overthinking stuff that we overlook the obvious
