I just got my Ex back from a workshop, they have tried to fix the IDM that had traces of moisture in it. Now I got the truck back, but it's still got the same problem.
The symptoms are:
-Longer cranking time before start then normal, now it uses 2-3 seconds to start.
-Engine suddenly hiccups, or stalls, but will normally fire right up.
-Before I went to the shop, I could hear a "pfft" sound under the truck when the problem occured. Almost like something is releasing pressure.
-Tried to Rev the engine, would not go past 3400rpm, and when releasing the throttle, a hiccup occured. This has only happens once.
Codes:
Exhaust backpressure sensor
P1280 (got a new one, but don't think its my problem
The problem has been difficult to figure out, but sometimes I can drive for a longer period of time, say an hour, before this happens.
Please help me figure this out, it's a major pain for me. I have thrown so much money on this truck now
SANDRE, it's strange that opening the hood would would increase the rpm unless you have an air intake issue. Can you post a picture of the engine up high, like on a ladder so we can see what the engine bay looks like?
