I get what you're saying but I was replying to the fellow who posted an inquiry a week ago now, not to the original poster.

I rodeo/team rope, but mostly haul a 3 horse, living quarter trailer 6' short wall, and a couple of horses and tack. The GVWR is 12000lbs and when I pull it with my F350, it's easy peasy. I don't haul a lot, as I mostly compete in the SoCal region, but I have transported a horse up to Prescott, AZ and central and NorCal. I have had an extended warranty on the truck when I bought it at 87K miles back in 2015, but if it weren't for the warranty, I would have been out a boatload of money with repairs. The high-pressure fuel pump failed, so it had to be replaced, about $5K bill, less than 4 months later, the pump failed again. The part manufacturer paid for the labor to replace it. Now it sits in the shop, yet again. The same part failed again - so it got me to begin looking around for another HD truck. I'm looking at a 2016 F250 King Ranch, 6.7L 120K miles on it. Also, a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD LTZ, 78K miles on it. The Chevy is tuned with a "Six Shooter" and FASS Fuel filter config. Finally, I'm considering either a 2019 F250 STX 6.7L, and a 2019 F250 Lariat in the 6.2L Gasser. With the amount of hauling I do, I can't justify the F350 anymore, plus the cost. Am I overanalyzing this? Do I really need a Super Duty Diesel (albeit the King Ranch and the Chevy LTZ are very nice interiors), or is the 6.2L gasser plenty of towing power? Here in SoCal, diesel, and gas prices are very close, and really that is not an issue for me. Maintenance/repair costs are weighing heavy right now. Okay, pandora's box has been opened. Release the Kraken!!
Thanks everyone in advance.
@Squisher, Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and purchased a new 2019 F350 SD XLT 6.7L. Black. Should be just fine with the towing. Getting the B&W hitch installed this week. Althought the 6.2 was about 9K cheaper, I did happen to get some great incentives on this particular model, and with the Navy Fed Credit Union incentives, got a satisfying result. This 'ol Marine will roping this weekend.
Thanks!
