more Flathead questions

OK, I went and bought a 47 in-line six.
It is the engine, and driveline but no rear end. There is a torque tube.
I bought it basically for the drive line and I couldn't turn it down.
My question, the bell housing is cast, Will the bell housing, Flywheel, clutch, and tranny work with an H series in-line six?
The transmission is a three speed Side loader

The trans will only work in a Ford that has Torque tube driveline, nothing else. Don't know about the BH. The clutch will undoubtedly work, but I can't say if the G flywheel is the same as an H.

Yes. Mostly when it comes time to change the clutch or do tranny work, you have to remove the rear axle. Mostly it's a matter of having a completely different rear suspension and frame. Parts are expensive for them, too.

I assume the driveline and engine are out of a car? You can change the trans to be like our trucks' (open driveline) by changing the main shaft and rear bearing retainer.

In the Blue bar of each post, on the right hand side, is a little icon/picture of a scale next to the # of the post itself. Click on that.

Is there a thin plate that bolts onto the back of the bellhousing, between that and the trans? What closes the hole over the starter drive? I think the G bellhousing differs from the H in that respect.

the blue plate is for the '49, I think it requires a stamped steel bellhousing.

the '47 bellhousing is now mounted on the '49 engine.

the '47 trans has a cast in cover that closes the back of the bellhousing.

Nothing should. If you click on the scale icon just above the green bars on the member's message you wish to acknowledge a dialog box will appear allowing you to add to their reputation. Thanks for asking.

the plate fits on the '47

the first problem is the bolts
the plate bolts on the crankcase
the cast BH is threaded in 4 of 6 holes
the question is; drill the cast bellhousing?

I think I am lost on what you are trying to do. What truck are you putting the engine in?
