So I have a 2012 f350 that is bone stock. I want to delete the DPF. I live in Connecticut and am not sure if I'm able. I'm aware diesels do not get emissions in the state, but since it is a dually with a service body, I could be stopped by DOT. Anybody know if I can get into trouble with a dpf delete? Thank you
Good question...where you are in Conn., hard to say. Here in Maine they don't bother if you have an inspection sticker, and they don't do emission testing. Does you DOT stop people on a regular basis?

DOT is always on the highway looking for people to get. I'm in southern Connecticut. I've heard they use the sniffer but people have said it doesn't catch onto the dpf delete
Just gut it and get a gizmo to shut off the regen. That way it looks good.
But I wouldnt I'd just leave it stock.. Is it really worth it....The 6.4 way yes the 6.7 ????

Does it have "commercial" plates, or is it registered as a private passenger vehicle? I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure DOT only has jurisdiction over commercial vehicles conducting interstate commerce.

Umm, no. That would be a very bad idea. It might LOOK good, as you put it, but it would otherwise be a problem. Just "gutting" such a huge "pipe" creates a giant expansion chamber. That does bad things to exhaust flow. It may actually create as much or more of a restriction to flow then the intact piece, due to turbulence, slowing and expansion of the gas, and possible reversion issues (that is where flow through the pipe can actually go backwards briefly). Not to mention it will sound weird as well; and probably not good. "Gutting" a converter or DPF is always a bad idea, even on a gas car/truck. The right way to do it, from a performance improvement standpoint is to remove it and replace it with a length of pipe the same diameter as the rest of the system.
Either live with it as is, or remove it entirely.
That said, to the OP, if you do remove it, please PM, as I will buy it from you.
