Hey guys, does anyone have an idea of how much fuel our trucks use per hour while idling? I'm trying to get an idea of my fuel mileage, but I've got three hours (ish) of idle time over a ten hour trip that returned 11mpg.
I guess I could track gallons used during a trip with no idle time and do the math backwards, our fill her up and let get idle for a few hours and then fill up again to see usage... Just a little bit of a waste of the info is already out there.
I realize every truck will consume different amounts of fuel depending on condition, tuning, everything. I'm just looking for an idea.
