Introduction and question
I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong section.
we (MATA) have some trolley style busses that are built on 2014 f450 V10 gas chassis. One in particular is giving me fits. I was assigned to this bus this morning with the complaint being that the left blinker lights up solid when the brakes are pushed. I initially thought it may be a problem with the tow package as the company who built them utilized both the OEM tail light harness and trailer harness on some of these busses. However after examination I've found this bus is only using the OEM tail light wiring. I also noticed that when the left blinker is on the brake lights also flash and (here is the kicker) the IAC motor also actuates!
Is lighting control performed through the BCM or is there a separate light control module that I'm missing? Does the IAC share any componentry with lighting control, perhaps closing the IAC as a function of engine braking?
I'm pretty quick, but we do not have schematics for either the Ford chassis or the bus upfit and I am unfamiliar with these vehicles.
My appologies and thanks for any help you can offer
I traced the problem to a faulty multifunction switch. I should've started there, but honestly didn't think it would have anything to do with the brake lights. I also have no idea why it would have functioned the IAC valve unless that was being caused by low voltage.
