Back up camera/brake light problem
I have '16 F250. Last week, the camera started acting like there was electrical interference, and now it is completely dead. Two days later, the brake lights started turning on when I turned the ignition off. The brake lights will stay on for hours. I have added the following: upfitter switches, flood light, bed lights, and a hitch light, all on the upfitters. I Tapped into the ground on the trailer light harness for the bed and hitch lights. I changed the tail light assemblies to LED and Anzo head light assemblies were added. All of that was done 6 months ago. I took it to ford and after 4 days, they said I had to buy a new tail light harness for $900. I asked how the tech was able to condemn the harness, he had no answer...just guessing at my expense. The LEDs use the factory harness, they're just plug and play. I went back and checked that ground connection and all is good. I suspect the bcm is bad. Anyone had this kind of issue? Can the LED brake lights cause a problem? I'm taking it to a different dealership on Monday, but I'd like to get more info first. Thanks.
