dgoodsy's '84 econoline van project
My wife and I got our interior renovation project to a state of completeness that we could sleep in the van. We pulled out the old velour walls and ceiling as well as the carpet. We removed the wood subfloor so it was sown to the metal floor. I wire brushed the rust spots on the floor and touched them with paint to help preserve the floor but it really was in decent shape. Then we put down a new subfloor and then the flooring. We used plywood for the flooring, cut into 3" strips. it almost looks like hardwood flooring. The walls we used thin plywood sheets painted white. I built a bed for it and that is basically it.
We got it done just in time to take on a trip we were planning. It was just over 200kms/120miles each way, I set the cruise fairly slow and we made it there and back without any issues, only stopping for gas. I am still working to tune the carb properly but it is on its way i think.
There is still lots to do before it is really done, I'm hoping to plug away at that and will document it here as i do.
