My truck is in the paint shop and I'm a little bit confused as to the original color or the trim piece on the hood. I guess you could call it an upper grill? Mine's a 52 Five Star cab and has the triple spears on the hood. When I look on pics on Google, I see both examples: body color and matching the grill. Does anyone know the original?
I believe for a 52' it is correct for the hood trim to be the same color as the body. You do see a fair number that chrome this trim piece, but as far as I know 52's did not come that way from the factory. There was a war going on, and manufacturers cut back on chromed parts.
