Starting issue 1989
I have an 89 bronco with the 5.8 I haven't had the bronco very long, but today I started working on it. The tires it had rubbed so I put 2" adapters. While I was under there I had to bleed the brakes. I went to run it after I did the bleed it ran for maybe 30 seconds then just shut off.
there was some smoke coming from the negative terminal/cable. The starter relay was only on there today with maybe 2 starts when this happened. I disconnected the cables and let it all cool. I went to start it later and didn't get anything. I cleaned terminals and it would click once and then nothing. I replaced the relay and still just one click. I tried the screwdriver over the relay and nothing.
I was going to look into main ground, but it got dark and I was pretty fed up.
i also put a battery charger on and tried the jump setting with no avail. I tested and got 12.5 across battery.
