Give me some input

Bought a Late 99 f350 7.3 211k. Been sitting for two years it did have a noticeable miss when cold. That seems to be less noticeable to maybe even being gone now. all the injector rings have been changed, new IPR. The other day I lacked power pulling our horse trailer couldn't get above 45-50 mph with it lacking power almost as if I had no boost. I swapped the ipc after research and it seems to run a lot better unloaded and seem to clear the cold miss. Hooked the trailer (8500 pounds) up and it still having issues with having power above 50 mph. I have scan gauge 2 and the ipc will reach 26-2700 so I think that's an ok reading. Fuel filter looks good. Greasy oil change. The guy I bought it from thinks hpop. I was thinking injector or two maybe. I've put about 400 miles on it now so I think I should be into new fuel. Any one think if anything else?

Need a lot more info!

99 or 99.5?

Gear ratio?

Tire size?

Auto or ZF6?

Stock or chipped?

Does your ScanGauge give MAP & Boost? Injector Pressure Regulator duty cycle? Injector pulse width?

Smoke (white, grey, black) under load?

Lots more, but that will give us a clue.

Late 99, made June 99.
3.73 gears
285/75/16
Zf6
All stock except 4 inch exhaust
Scan gauge will do ipr duty cycle, I believe map but have to check that for sure, fuel pulse width, if that's the same as injector pulse width
No smoke at all

Also had to pull the trailer this morning and it seems to struggle to get above 2100 rpm in the higher gears. Maybe that's a better description than bashing it off speed.

but if no smoke, Tug says not an air problem. I'm sure he'll chime in with some valuable knowledge. Timluce is going through a low boost problem now after doing injectors... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...low-boost.html

How are your EGTs? If they skyrocket with low boost, you might check and see if the EBPV is opening.

I don't know the egt's at this time as I don't have the gauges installed in this truck yet.

I'll get the parts and make a boost leak detector. Looks easy enough.I'm also working to get my gauges from the old truck in it so we will know egt's.

Some info from the trip home from the horse show. Highest boost number I seen was about 12.7 with 15 one time on the scan gauge. Typical boost readings were 5-8 maybe 9. When it was struggling to accelerate in 4th gear we were running about 1800 rpm, 41 ipr, 2000ish ipc, and boost was around 10. That was 4th gear with the accelerator held to the floor. Slowly it will accelerate and we cruise at 55-60 with no issues. Seem to pull better coming home versus this morning. With the only real difference being ambient temperature is 60 versus 45. One thing that bothered me some is the ECT on the scan gauge stayed around 170 which seems a little low to me if it's accurate. To me the truck just doesn't seem right but this is the first zf6 unit I've had. I've had lots of 7.3 autos, and one 97 7.3 with the zf5. Didn't pull a lot with the zf5 though. Well let me know what else y'all is looking for and we can roll with it from here. Thanks to everyone who is helping.

I have the 4R100 if that makes a difference but I see 16-18 PSI in stock tune. Well over 20 in 80 HP mode. No fancy mods, just on the intake side.

Yea the boost seems low to me too. But I'm not use to a stock truck, plus I believe the scan gauge reads boost off the map and I'm not sure if that is making a difference.

I have a similar problem in only the 40-55 mph range. There is zero boost for me in this MPH (I have a gauge that is plumbed to the map sensor). Under 40 MPH or above 55 mph no issue. If I turn off the overdrive, it works like it should. This is something I would like to correct as well.
