So I installed the Remote Access along with the VSS over the weekend and everything seemed to be working fine. But starting yesterday I would get an error code sometimes when I tried using the app from my phone. This is the code (00011000) i get when it doesn't work.
Have any of you that has the unit installed experienced this?
I get this error when I don't have good cell signal. Looking at your pic you've only got 2 bars, so the RMU probably has no bars. Where did you put the RMU, up under the dash per the instructions? You really have to have a good high strength signal for it to work up under the dash. I put my RMU in the drivers side a pillar. It helps a bit placing it higher up.
Also, I heard that this system uses the AT&T network, so if you're in an area that is known to be an AT&T deadzone it won't work. I live in such a zone so mine doesn't often work while parked in my driveway.
That's interesting. I just followed the instructions and mounted the RMU under the dash. I think I might try your solution since it makes sense that it may have a harder time receiving a good signal down there. Do you know if the RMU responds if my phone is connected to WIFI?

Depends. If your phone has "wifi calling", i.e. it uses the wifi network for calls (which means it uses the wifi signal to route the call to the cell network) it should work. But if you're just on wifi with no call or messaging support then it won't work.
I have the same truck, with the same issue. Installed the VSS, and the RMU, and added the subscription. I receive alarm trigger alerts, and the app will tell me if the truck has gone to sleep, but I cant get the sent commands to work. I receive the same error message each time. The dealer that sold me this said some of the 17 SDs have this issue and others don't. After over a month of reading forums, I seem no closer to having this work. There must be someone who has this figured out!? By the way, mine has NEVER worked for me.
