1940 Speedometer: How to remove needle?
Can anyone tell me how to remove the needle of the speedometer of a 1940 gauge cluster? It's a 100 mph speedometer.
The gauge is in working condition, but it's pretty rusted and paint in bad shape. I need to replace or repaint the speedometer dial.

i had mine apart ! but didn,t need to remove the needle since my backing was nice. i would imagine its just press on. theres a guy on the ford barn who does speedometers,he could probably answer your question if nobody else does! his name is bob wells.
