What should I replace on front end
By C/S I'm assuming you mean Camper Special. Mine's not a C/S.
Before all of these parts were replaced I had already replaced my rag joint. Replacing the rag joint, in my experience, doesn't remove any wandering or anything like that. It DOES fix the problem of having a steering wheel that bounces a good few inches from left to right before it actually engages the steering gear and turns the wheels. If you're trying to keep your parts list to a minimum I would see if you're rag joint is bad, which most are after 40ish years. Then check everything else for play and replace whatever is actually bad (tie rod ends, play in the wheel bearings, etc etc). For example, I only had one really bad tie rod end, but since I was throwing money at having it lowered I figured replace them all and not worry about coming back to replace the others once they finally gave.
Yes, CS was for camper special but I was mistaken, I have a Trailer Special.
My steering does bounce about 1" before it engages and drives the wife nuts, so the rag joint will get replaced.
I'll likely do the bushings that are dry rotted.
Thanks for the tip!
Victor

These were purchased from Summit Racing, JCWhitney, and Autozone and these are their part numbers. They have the manufacturer's part numbers on their websites if you're interested in getting them from another vendor. I did that in order to shop around. I'll include the prices I paid since I'm sure some might be curious. The only reason I went with Autozone was for my front shocks and I wanted to source them from a local brick and mortar store in case of a return. After dealing with Summit and NPD I got sick of mailing crap back and waiting forever for replacements after waiting forever for a resolution in the first place. I should probably do reviews on all the parts I've put on this truck having gone through several vendors (LMC, NPD, Dennis Carpenter, Summit, JCWhitney, etc.) for different parts.
Summit Racing
