is it normal for oil to be in the cool air charge pipe? Had somebody tell me there shouldn't and the turbo seals are going bad but a mechanic at work said it's normal.

Also it looks like there is/was oil on the air filter. Not sure if that's possible since air comes in to the turbo?

It is normal for oil residue to be on the CAC pipes. But it should not be a mess, as in dripping. Oil on the air filter is interesting though.

It's just a residue in the pipe. A little more where the boot connects the pipes but I'm assuming it's just because of the grooves on the boot so it will collect more oil at that spot.

as for the oil in the air filter it may not even be oil, I'll pull it off again tomorrow and check again. I don't remember seeing any oil in the lines for the filter to the turbo so could just have been dirty from something else. And I don't see how oil would get to the filter in the first place.
