My radio will switch fm am cd player without touching anything. It will go back and forth between each source. Volume control is not working properly on my steering wheel but all the climate stuff does. Any ideas what the issue could be?
Thanks
Factory head unit? I dont have steering wheel controls, but the volume control was the first thing to go on mine. Sometimes you can clean them out with contact cleaner, but I chose to replace with aftermarket.
Did you try contact cleaner on steering switches and deck switches? Aside from that, the poor sounding factory setups are hardly worth investing in, IMHO.
I know you said you want to keep the factory, but for $300 Joying android based head unit and backup camera.....only wish I had made the change sooner!
and dashcam and BT and WiFi. I really only wanted BT for hands free and Torque but this unit has very nice additional options as well for a great price.
Being highly Google connected, it is a good thing for me. Being WiFi connected at home lets me use anything I can do on my phone or computer. I am also serviced by Google Fi which uses networks with TMobile, Sprint and US Cellular for service. I get great coverage and speeds. It will allow others in the car to connect to it and surf/email/text/... as well.
When I used my phone for BT phone/streaming music/Google nav/maps and plugged into a powered phone dock, it would still drain the battery by the end of the day. The Google Nexus 6P has a higher powered charger to handle it now though. It works really well, especially for fast charge. Being Google connected if the worst happens (stolen) I can kill it online the next time it connects.
I added a few inexpensive improvements to an already nice one owner well maintained vehicle.
