I have the opportunity to buy a 08 6.4 for a good price.. 5000.00. The bad is that it has high miles and needs work, like leak at the turbo and egr. The local ford shop told me about 5,000 to fix it. Is it worth it or do you recommend I keep looking
Anyway, it you have a trusted mechanic, have them take a look at it. 5 K could be more.

If the rig is in nice shape, I'd be on it like a hobo on a hotdog and learn from this site how to repair it yourself.
If you can buckle a belt, you can spin a wrench with the right tutoring.

Good luck on that one. A 2008 for 5k is kinda scary. You just have to hope that no major damage has already occurred.
