Engine Swap Question?
i have '87 F250 4x4 w/ 351W (one ton). the engine worked too hard to move this truck (underpowered) ,rear main seal leaking bad & smokes, she needs to be yanked. my question is : will a big block(460) bolt in without modifications?. motor mounts?do i need to swap trans.what do i need to do?

You did not mention if you have an auto trans.
But yes you would need a standard trans bellhousing or auto trans bellhousing bolt pattern that would match a 460 which can come from a 460 of course, or a 351M or 400. These have the exact same bolt pattern. You can get the engine frame mounts from Ford still to switch to a 460.
It is a very do-able job.
It will just take a little leg work. I did this swap in my 82 from a 400. It was frustrating at times finding parts. But well worth the effort.
