Question tow mirrors

I have a 02' f150 ext. caband I don't tow often ...but really like to "upgrade to some tow mirrors. I don't care for the "add-a-mirror" type. I'm sure they are good one out there. Just not for me. I prefer swapping them out and having them attached always and help eliminate blinds spots for every day driving too. Manual extending will work for me and I do have power adjusting now.

SO...what will bolt right on?? any super duty mirrors? There is a "host" of aftermarket mirrors...but I don't need something that gonna vibrate or fall apart. Is there "brands" to stay away from?? or what has work well for others?

thanks in advance

I can't live without my tow mirrors so I understand why you would want them. From that I have read on the forums, aftermarket (ebay types) mirrors usually look just like OEM but often have vibration issues. I would look for a set of OEM take-offs.

I have no familiarity with what works on the F-150. You might want to re-post in the F-150 forum.

I used to have an '06 F150 that I purchased tow mirrors for. I got them from Tascaparts.com. As I recall the price was quite reasonable and they had the same kind of turn signal lights as my stock mirrors had. They were power adjust, which worked just fine, and manual extend and fold, which worked for me. However, the defroster light on my dash blinked whenever I used the turn signals, so the wiring wasn't perfect. I never did work on that small issue. The mirrors themselves were great quality, fit perfectly, and looked factory.

Just goggle and choose. I have changed out mirrors twice and since I seldom change the adjustment manual worked just fine for me and was under $200/pair.

thanks for the info and replies!
I considered posting the same question in another segment of FTE....but some on here get testy when you do that.

I would love to find some OEM ones...but they are kinda hard to find. E-bay has several aftermarket ones...but when I ask for "where are they made"? I get some kind of BS answer, like they are made over seas. or they come from several different sources. Well not gonna buy them if ya can't answer the question.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe Ford offered tow mirrors for that generation of truck. At least, none that I know of. Maybe you could retrofit something? The add-on tow mirrors that slide on over the factory units look better than the clip-on ones, but are not wide enough for my liking.

Well that kinda why I posted here....thinking that someone would have some insight as to which one from the f250 or f350 sd realm might know if some models would fit? Or fit with relatively little modification?

There are no oem options that will bolt up to your truck. I'd be looking at ebay. You can get aftermarket super duty mirrors with the proper base for your truck. I'm on my second truck with ebay tow mirrors (half ton chevy and now my super duty) and have had no problems. If they shake more than my oem mirrors did I sure don't notice it. All the sellers seem to have the same mirrors, just find the best price with the features you want. I think you will have a real hard time finding a set built in the states

Agreed ....they all seem to be the same thing on E-bay. I started to look at the warranty of those offered there. Just a few have something longer then a few months. LMC has them too, but they are pricy. I'll keep looking.

Good to know about the shaking thing, that , at least you haven't had issue with that.

I really like that style...but it don't think they fit my super cab, just crew cabs.
