I got my hands on 10 gallons of john deere torque guard 10w-30 its cj-4/sl rated. I checked the john deere website and it says its sl and sm rated. Think its safe to use? Any oil guys out there wanna chime in. Isnt the sl sm rating for gas engines?
what does the container have on the label as the rating? You can used C rated oils in a gasoline engine but not the standalone S rated oils in a diesel.
