count the flashes from the air bag when you start up, look up the code. could be the connection to the seat has come disconnected. Mine is on because I took the passenger seat out and I put in a replacement seat from a 1999, just the cushions but there's no connection like on the 2001 seat cushions.

You mean the air conditioner blower?
i had low speeds stop working on my 2001 Ranger. Found through this forum that it was a blown resistor pack.
I bought this and fixed it.

Search the forum for installation instructions. It's a bit of a pain but not terrible.
