Identifying a '70's cam
I have a D2J1 6250 BA 9UC Cam that I am trying to find information on. Lift, duration, ect. How do I go about doing that. Any help would be great. It is a Marine/Industrial cam. Thanks.

i think it is out of a 302 marine engine. i'm not sure though. the J designation in the casting number means it is a Marine/Industrial cam. I am just looking for a way to find out the cam specs. to see how mild the cam is. i could measure lift but the duration for exhaust and intake would be tricky. i have found a few charts on the internet that identify certain cams but none have this one. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Identifying a '70's cam
The only way to know with certainty is to measure it, installed. You will need a degree wheel and a dial indicator with a magnetic base. If you will be doing anything with engines, these are good things to have for more than just this. Wheel is under $40.00 and a cheap indicator and base can be had around $75.00.
