Hey guys I'm lookin to change my radio I wanna get one with the 6.2 inch touch screen but I'm not sure if it will fit in my dash does anyone know if this will work thanks in advance
Unless it is a Ford specific head unit, it will more than likely require the Ford adapter mount. Mine did. I think I used the kit from Scosche or Metra. You also may need the adapter harness. Make sure you get the correct one for your year. But yes the SD is a double din.
There a # of these double din android radios out there to choose from. Several of us talked about this awhile back. Joying was one of them that I remember came out on top of quality vs. price comparison. Still required some modification to fit as in wiring harness, etc. but the I don't recall anyone saying the dash had to be trimmed. I too want to upgrade my radio but have not pushed the button on the purchase yet. I will probably opt for Joying brand or similar and even it sound quality isn't that great I would just add amplifier to new speakers anyhow.
I know this doesn't answer you question but if your not sure on the stereo itself I was just trying to offer alternative models that I know folks have used and been very happy with.

ok so thank you for the reply. Were can I get the ford adapter mount can I get this from Walmart.com or Ebay? And roughly how much does it cost and what would I call it in a search. And I think I know what your talking about when you say adapter harness but to confirm you're referring to the wiring harness that you can get from Walmart that hard wires to the pig tails coming off the radio so you can plug the radio directly into the truck with out cutting or splicing any wires correct?
My personal avenue has been jvc with my past 2 trucks. Double din fits 05+. 99-04 need trimming i think. The first one i pieced together bought from ebay, local and such for best deals. The second one i just used crutchfield and got the dash kit, wiring harness and steering wheel interface. Crutchfield give a good discount on the items and it was actually cheaper. I chose jvc because they had what i considered stock looking head units. The first one i put in my 06 also had a detachable face. The second one that went into my 05 was very similar but detachable face was no longer a option. Both units were flawless nearly 3yrs before i sold the 06 and commog up on 2 in the 05. Both had line in, usb, bluetooth, multiple formats for mp3 type discs or usb drives, satellite radio, dvd and on the 05 that deck has mhl capibility and a hdmi cable input. Spent right at 300 bucks. Both were also backup camera ready but i never wired up the camera i have
Ok thank you that video explains a lot when you said trim dash I got a little intimidated but now I see there's really not much to that so a big thank you to you guys for all the info
