Naw I wasn't chewing your azz Glenn...just making sure my name gets spelled correctly.

Life is good, no complaints. Superduty is doing awesome. Just pulled my trailer to Montana for the summer. The only hiccup was one I made with the EBPV. Other than that, it pulled great and was flawless. Hope all is well with you.

If you have injectors over stock, tow heavy often and want to utilize the power that's available, you'll want a better than stock turbo. You and only you can determine if the coin that comes along with that is worth it. The t4 setup is what so many guys choose because of the versatility.

I pulled 10k pretty regular with stage 2's, no intercooler and stock air. Now a lot of power was pulled out in the tuning, but I could still keep the turbo from grenading. But I couldn't keep my foot into it. Boost was everbit of a limiting factor that EGT's were. My new build is using a 369 turbo. I can't wait to try it out. For me personally, if I were to put any money into a turbo, it's towards a charger that will handle the fuel that's at my disposal.

Even with stage 1 Rosewood injectors, intercooler, custom tunes. Then I did the t-4 and s366 turbo, studs and springs, and e-fuel. I now pull a 10,000 lb 5er with all the power I need. Put it in a tow tune and go. If I overfuel it on a hard pull, the egt's will still go up, but there's no need to. I think the s366 just pumps so much more volume of air, it helps to keep it cooler
perfect example of why t4 is needed. Same combo from stock air to s366. Wala and he can tow adequately in the mountains of wv ...so much so that the clutch said "I'm out fools"!!
And Todd.yep. but what do I know. I went from stock to where I'm at so no baby steps for me.

Hi Team,

Follow up... - up pipes fixed. Riff Raff wheel installed. Supposed to have all exhaust leaks fixed. Experiencing close to no boost. When I brought it in I was making 11-12 with bad up pipes. Now with new up pipes I'm making 4-5 psi. He said that the EBPV is moving freely. It's a friend that did the work, and did it on his spare time, so I'm just wondering if he missed something simple? What would cause boost to drop like that after up pipes, new 3 inch downpipes, and the HPOP was resealed. Thoughts? I may bring it somewhere tomorrow to have it checked over. I feel bad bothering my friend. He is a chevy guy and hates fixing fords haha.

Map censor is hooked up. I did try and unplug it to see if it made a difference. No change. Last night we put a higher end scanner on it. It pulsed the cylinders to test them all one by one. 1 and 5 were hitting but not at full potential. It did an electrical test and buzzed them after, and all seemed to have good connections. I do have my swamps injectors ready to go in. Would 2 cylinders not hitting at 100 percent cause my stock turbo to drop to 7-8psi?

....if unplugging your MAP didn't change the way the truck drove, you might have found a potential problem.

I may have mis-read the other threads. I thought if you unplugged it and it made power again, then it was bad?

Turbo was taken out to put the new riff raff wheel on it. I can likely get some soapy water and start taking a look for leaks. I'm assuming that was checked already, but won't hurt to do my due diligence.

Just an update. Turbo pedestal was pretty shot, so I needed to replace that. I will concede to some others on this thread that I should have likely updated to the T4 mount while everything was out and a S366 to help with EGTs, but being that I've spent a ton of cash on everything between my truck and 73 cuda (and had new up pipes recently installed) I elected the stock route with Ford parts which gets me warranty on the shops work. With that said, I thrashed to get my baby swamps installed. New turbo pedestal, riff riff wheel, gauges, brake controller, air compressor, air shocks. Was hoping to take the truck on a 1200 mile round trip hauling my cuda and my brother Camaro to NY, but my ABS light came on with no speedo and it took me to hours within departure to track down the bad wire and fix it. I just wasn't confident enough that the truck would make the trip. My one test pull (below) which is when the ABS issues kicked in, it was pulling fine, but I was getting up there in EGTs pretty quick even on small grades in stock tune. I wanted to have some more practice runs before I hit the mountains in the middle of the night. So I'll get home and take some more weighted pulls to see how she does. It was a bummer to make the decision to leave it, I was excited to take my Cuda, and test out my new trailer, but that truck fought me for 2 weeks straight right down to the last hour, and not logging any practice runs on the trailer, I just didn't trust it, and mentally wouldn't have taken another breakdown too well haha.

My air shocks were not working yet in this picture, so yes, she's squatting a bit. I have the right snap rings for them now, so hopefully it will level it out. We used my buddies derby car to add some weight for the test, It has lots of solid steel welded to it so if I can lug those around then swapping the Camaro would be easier.

It was also making 25PSI of boost (unloaded in performance tune). I figured with baby swamps, and their tunes along with RiffRaff wheel it would boost more. Flowing into a 3inch downpipe to 4 inch exhaust. All leaks fixed. My old 97 with rosewoods boosted around 32 with stock wheel.
