Just thought I'd share in case any of you use Mobil 1 TDT oil in your trucks. Napaonline.com has quarts of synthetic oil on sale for $5.79 per quart and there is also a rebate online at mobiloil.com. I just picked up 16 quarts of 5w50 for just under $100. I'm going to give the rebate a whirl also to see if I can get another $10 or $12 back with that.

Just wanted to share in case anyone wanted to stock up.

 

The problem is, their stock is likely CK4 and not approved by Ford. If you get lucky and find CJ4, good deal. If you got CK4, don't run it.

 

Yes that's true. I bought it for another car so I didn't even think of that. So yes, make sure it's CJ or if it is CK make sure it's approved first

 

In my neck of the woods Mobil 1 TDT 5w40 goes for $22/gal at the local Meijer. It's been that price since 2011. I checked a few days ago and it is CJ4. The T6 on the shelf was CK4.

I can't remember which site or which thread but one in of the big CK4 threads someone mentioned that Mobil wouldn't be switching TDT to CK4 any time soon. If they gave a reason I don't remember what it was.

P.S. I must be getting old. That was a lot of "can't/don't remembers".

 

Mobil has been CK4 since around Dec 1st. If you have CJ4 M1 left in your area, it's old stock and worthwhile to grab at a good price. M1 is all CK4 around me.
