Gents, I have an exhaust leak where the pipe connects to the manifold. Specifically the flared area where the pipe mates to the manifold cracked all the way around. My issue is that I have no idea what the piece is called or if it can be bought separately from the pipe. Is it just pipe that's been flared? Any info is appreciated.
It's basically pipe that's been flared.
I know Justin @ R&D idi performance has the tool to make these flares; most exhaust shops do /not/.
I'd call him up and see if he'll sell you a short piece with the flare, which you can then weld in place(or have a local exhaust shop do it).
You might also look for a 'ball flare'; I forget what size it was(measure it?) but I got a piece off Summit that worked. Only problem was that that metal was pretty thin and ended up cracking out. Justin uses much stronger steel pipe for his stuff.
