97 F-250 adjustable clutch push rod

For a 97 F-250 is there a adjustable clutch push rod available ??????

My clutch is slipping on hills with throttle it slips, two possible causes I put in a new pedal box assembly and maybe the lever that attacches to the pushrod is in the wrong position leaving pressure on the clutch , or the other thought is I have a slight rear main lean snd possibly the disk is oily . Truck has 135,000 miles and sat for 3 years after the pedal box install, that gave the rear main drip plenty of time to soak in........

rear main seal leaking when sitting wont get on the clutch disk

usually the rear main seal don't leak but oil from above the engine runs down the valley and down the back of the engine making it look like the main seal

can you feel the pedal lift up a bit after the pressure is released?

That means you need a new clutch, there's no way a clutch pedal rod has the pressure engage the clutch.

Do you still have the dual mass flywheel? Your problems could be related to a failing DMF if you still have one.

Top and rear of engine is dry and clean, I parked it for three years due to finances , the oil is coming out of the bell housing and still dry and clean up top, but I see your point a rear main leak while sitting should not oil the disk , but I did do the pedal assembly while it was parked and it got zero run time I'm thinking the link that the clutch rod is in the wrong position leaving the clutch master under slight pressure , kinda like resting a heavy foot on the clutch pedal ,,,,,,, anyeay I like to get a adjustable rod to take the slack out and them run it to contact.

If it were a mechanical linkage that would be find but with a hydraulic clutch it's not quite that easy. All rods and links are designed to be a set length to provide proper travel so the hydraulics work correctly. With only 135k on it I would think you still have the dual mass flywheel set up. Sounds like it is failing. A new clutch is probably in your future

Yup still has the DMF, on my earlier truck with 6.9 and a hyydralic clutch an adjustable pushrod was available , I bought it twice was only 8 dollars at autozone , nun found for the 97 Powerstroke even though they are identical ,

I think the link on the pedal box is in the wrong position , i think i'll move that unless I find a pushrod.

You can try marking the location of the shift fork with the rod attached, then detach the rod and note the location of the shift fork. This should confirm the idea of whether the clutch is fully engaged or not

^^^^ +1; also, you'd probably notice when you disconnect the pushrod from the arm, if it's difficult to pop off and the pushrod snaps backward a bit when you do it, that would indicate the arm is indeed activating the hydraulics a bit, even with the pedal in the full up position.

Rock Auto has an adjustable pushrod; I'd have to look up the nunber tonight at home. Also, the way the pushrod snaps into the master, it's not real easy to remove.

I would start with your idea of re-clocking the arm, however. The fact that it's a replacement pedal box points to that.

Hard? Actually the answer's quite easy. It's because there isn't an adjustable pushrod for the '97. Whenever you search by year/make/model, you'll ONLY find parts that are originally intended for that year/make/model. The adjustable pushrod is a GENERIC part, one that you ADAPT to this application. 'Course, I said I'd get the part number a week ago! Sorry.... Just look it up by mfr/part - ATP Part # FX231.

Thanks for the part number! A rod for the 87 model year does come up but nothing for the 97 , the 87 part may very well fit the 97, I had bought several of those long time ago for my old F250,,,,,,,,,, gona check it out Thanks again!
