Ignition key without remote

The truck programs the key and remote. You just have to get it cut to your truck. But you need two keys before you can do a third. If not it has to be ordered and cost 3X as much.

This is how you program a new key. Take key #1 insert, turn to RUN and off then remove key. Take key #2 insert, turn to RUN and off then remove. Take key #3 NEW insert, turn to run and off. Take key #3 turn to START and it will start the truck.

If you want a key without the remote you need to get what is called by Ford a Ignition Transponder Key no remote #164-R8124. Depending on who ordered it but you need to get it cut to your truck prior to trying to program it. My dealer said they don't make a key like this and I took a gamble and had him order the key. It works and this is the correct ford part number. Note if you open the door with the key the alarm timer starts counting down and you have to insert the key within like 20 seconds or the alarm goes off. If you use the door combination there is no time limit.

I just found the 5 button remote/key by googling the FCC ID number.

To find the FCC ID Number, eject the key and find the very VERY small numbers...

I photographed the numbers and then zoomed in so I could read them...and then googled the FCC ID number.

Looks like the F150 XL 100a key. Thanks for the part number. I'm going to try it tomorrow. Ford doesn't publish what key works and I had not been successful in programming a similar functioning key (the blanks our parts folks had found have the blade 90 degrees from the one you posted.

This key is working fine for me. Just have to remember if you use the key to open door the alarm start timing down so you have to start the truck. I discovered if I use the door combination I can take my time as the alarm does not time down. And yes it's a 2016 F-150 key I think he said.
