Pretty sure i can do something to get better than 10.2....
I drive 12 miles each way to work each day, going 60 or so for 11 of it.
I get 10.2 religiously since I put the bumpers and tires on.
Tires are 315 70 r17. The truck is still a belly-dragger out at the lease and in the field so I am looking into 3 inches and true 35... not sold on that yet.
my bottom line is I think that 4.30s would help.. .i just want verification on this and justification of the purchase.... I like the way it drives empty but not so much towing.
positive feedback?
I have been reading up don't get me wrong, I used the search and found a lot of good stuff! a gray 2016 build has me running circles it so good, but I want to make sure I gather all the info i can get.
I really like your truck haha i just think i can stuff all that under my trailer. ive been pulling tape on it for two weekends now and i just dont think i can do anything about it... trailer is low, the receiver is all the way up. it ate a tool box off my 07 in 09 lol
Thanks. No one can tell you what you will like. Some(I'm sure lots) don't like my truck, and wouldn't like the gearing set up. But for my terrain and what I like, the tire gear combo is great. If I was going to tow heavy a lot, I would have even went with 35's and 4.88's. But for my needs, 35's and 4.56 would be perfect. I'm averaging as good as you, while turning 37's and I have a 9 mile daily commute with 12 red lights. If you live in a flat area, I would do a little less gear, like the 4.30's you mentioned. If you truly want good fuel mileage, stick the 245/75r17's back on. Nothing robs mpg more than bigger tires. With the factory tires and 3.73's, I could hyper mile and get over 15 mpg daily average. Did that over the course of 2 tanks. But, it sucks driving like that. I'm sure I could average well over 11 now if I tried.
