Hey guys. My truck recently lost some weight!! I did the delete pipe, and a sct x4 delete tuner. I've got to say, im very pleased so far. My question is, ive got the stock delete tunes that came on the programmer, and the trans shifts are very firm, I think too firm. I love the street tune for mileage. and I like the tow tune, as long as im towing. It shifts pretty hard when Im no hooked up. Im looking at purchasing a custom tune for the street and wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations for who to have write one for me. I know Eric at Innovative was pretty popular over in the 6.0 forums. That's who did mine on the 6.0. Probably will go back with them unless anyone else has a reason that I shouldn't. thanks ahead of time guys
After tuning, mine took close to 2,000 miles for the trans to relearn and calm down. Initially, it hit so hard in gear changes I was worried about something breaking. That was 50,000 miles ago and no complaints since. Not sure if maybe yours is still learning as well and needs more time.
I was hoping that would be the case, but since mine isn't shift on the fly I was worried changing from street to tow it would reset it everytime and never "learn".
Mine is also not shift on the fly, and when changing tunes I have not experienced anything like I did after my weight loss tune was first installed. It might depend on who wrote the tunes, or something else, so yours may or may not behave similarly.
Mine came from Rudy's diesel. Not sure who writes their tunes for them. I've called them a few times on it not saying they blew me off, but kind of acted like I was overly concerned about it
Mine are also from Rudy's. Give the trans a while longer to learn and smooth out, then try changing tunes and see what happens.
Same experience here, I just loaded the first tow tune and have driven moderate for the last 2.5 months. Do think it is better now that what it was when first loaded. First couple shifts at near wot I didn't like. I really like Jody's trans tune at DP tuner though they do not support deleted equipment.
What E02 said. I've been running the X4 for about 2 years now, also from Rudy's and have run in all the settings and yes, it will calm down after awhile. And, I have had the occasion to return my truck to stock a time or 2 and still gotten better. I'm running tow right now and I like it even if If I'm not towing
