Transmission Leaking

F350 2001 2WD

Just spotted a transmission leak from where the driveshaft enters the transmission. Had the driveshaft out for new u joints and carrier bearing the other day and noticed a small dribble - didn't think anything off it. But there's a couple of drops on the bottom of the transmission today - doesn't seem enough to drip on the driveway but the front of the fuel tank is shiny.

Thoughts on culprits??

Probably got nicked when you installed the drive shaft. Install a new seal and it should be good to go.

Do you mean the seal at the back end of the transmission that hugs the driveshaft?

Totally epic advice, problem fixed. Whoever put the last seal on also put the breather hole on the bottom. Screwdriver and hammer was all that was required to get the seal out. Bought a $2.50 3" piece of exhaust pipe to use to knock it back in evenly.
