Question Thinking about these running boards

They say they are for a '51-'52 COE. Does anyone know if they will likely fit a '48-'50?

The COE running boards are only about 25" long. I think those would require reworking that's above my skill level.

The passenger side where the battery sits is almost non existent. I suppose I could slap something together from sheet metal but it wouldn't look right. I'm not a metal master like you guys.
