2005 Ford Ranger O2 Sensor

How hard is it to change the bank 1 sensor 2 (HO2S12) oxygen sensor. Here is the explanation.

Lack of heated oxygen sensor- Bank 1 Sensor 2(H02S12) switches- sensor indicates lean
Explanation
aaECM forces the fuel system rich and lean-Test fails when sensor does not react as expected
Probable cause
aa1- Failed oxygen sensor
aa2- Air leak near oxygen sensor
aa3- Poor electrical connection in sensor circuit

Thanks in advance for any help!

When i changed mine I went to local Autozone and used the loan a toll program and got the tool,,,then I unpluged and heated the old sensor with a little hand held propane torch bottle and removed it without to much trouble at all,,,I tried to remove it first without heat and it was very frozen in place,,,then resinstalled new one after applying anti siege to threads making sure not to get any on sensor

Can you spray with PB Blaster a couple of times ahead of removal as well?

Hold on, the O2 code you have is for the O2 sensor switching Stuck Lean = the O2 sensor is measuring too much air/O2 in the exhaust & is stuck at the lean limit, not that it's dead/bad.

If you have a intake, or exhaust manifold leak upstream of the sensor, that can corrupt fuel trim, or if a fuel injector is clogged & giving a lean squirt, that'll corrupt fuel trim lean, if the MAF sensor is dirty & not correctly measuring air intake, that can corrupt fuel trim lean. If you have a leak in the PCV valve plumbing, or it's faulty/dirty & stuck open, that can corrupt fuel trim, as it's down stream of the MAF sensor, so if it's calculated for operating vacuum leak is being corrupted by faulty operation, it'll corrupt fuel trim lean.
SO, what I'm saying is, maybe you need to do some more trouble shooting before throwing a O2 sensor at this problem based on this trouble code.

Did this problem come about slowly over time, or suddenly after some event?
Are you having any drive ability, or engine noise/ping problems?
