6 Years Ago Today

LOL. He can't make his mind up between a fuelie 5.0L or a 351W. The truck did get a new fuel sender today though. After six years of never knowing how much fuel is in it, the guage finally reads right, now. . ....or, at least I hope so. The new sender read good on the bench before I installed it into the tank.

I can suggest this Steve, if you want to run long tube headers with either V8 the 302 is a better choice. I have read on here where other guys have tried every set of Bump 302 long tubes out there and none fit on a Bump chassis with a 351W in it. That help?

Thank you, sir. It isn't without flaws but, thankfully, it doesn't have any major body damage to contend with. Mostly just scratches and minor dings.
Eventually, I plan to tear it down to the frame and build it back up, where everything will be nice and clean.

I was hoping his Birthday would answer that question.

This inline six has never been rebuilt so, #1, I'm just glad the truck is in as good of shape as it is and, #2, I'm just glad that the old 240 still runs and will move the truck down the highway.

Back in the late '90s and early 2000s, I was scouring the wrecking yards pretty heavily looking for Traction-Lok 3rd members from mostly (Dentside) Ford trucks. Among finding and getting regular C7AW-E 9-inch 3rd members with TL differentials, I found a couple of 9-inch N-case 3rd members. One isn't the Daytona version and one is. The one I installed in my truck is the Daytona version with a 4-pinion, 31-spline, TL differential and 3.50 gears. I picked it up for $75.00.
I plan to swap to a small-block in the future and it probably won't be a threat to breaking a 3rd member or axle but, if you have heavy-duty parts lying around (especially for cheap), why not use them? ....who knows?, at some future date, I may get a wild hair to install a 460-based 514 or 572. ....probably not but just incase, the rear end will be covered to handle whatever sits between the front wheels.
